Distribution

The
building has three floors that at the beginning were used as follows:
the ground floor for housing, laboratories, kitchens, dining room,
storehouse and other services; the mezzanine for clerks and staff
from the College of Mines and students’ dormitories; and the
upper floor for classrooms, the Dean’s Hall, the Ancient Chapel
and the Ceremonies’ Hall.
The
spaces were distributed around patios, as one goes from the vestibule
to the main patio, which connects with the staircase, one comes
across smaller patios located in the southern part where the laboratories
and students’ dormitories were.
